This will be the first post from our humble new literary journal. The students in our Creative Writing class proposed names and voted to call it "Literature de Animus," which in Latin loosely translates to "Scraps of Mind." It is our intention to showcase the creative writing talents of our students, with an emphasis on the products being created in each semester's Creative Writing class. Lunch


I sit here in my desk,

Wondering when lunch will be.

The sunbeams on my neck,

Hungry til I’m free.


Minutes go by, I count to three.

I glance at the clock, I see the hands turn,

Disappointment fills, as the clock disagrees.

I sit here starving, for lunch is all I yearn.
