A teacher has the benefit of being able to look at all of his students' poems both in any given semester as well as over the entirety of his teaching career.

These 2 poems, composed respectively by senior Olivia Martin and junior Ilya Nawaz, while they are both written in free verse and both touch on water imagery, are completely different in scope and approach, illustrating how the work of the poets reflects their unique gifts.
